DESCRIPTION OF THE DENSIFICATOR DEC
The DEC from ITALREC is a continuous corotating twin screw densifier.
The main strong points compared to the densifiers of old design are:
-continuous processing
-automatic processing with no constant presence of personnel
-very low maintenance costs due to limited wear
-reduced energy consumption
-extreme versatility to process the various products
The basic concept of the DEC is simple: the product is fed into the screws (clicca.qui) by a feeding belt (clicca.qui) having a breaker to stabilize the flow of material. A plc system will continuously monitor the torque of the srews (the motor can be AC or DC ) and keep it constant by adapting the speed of the belt, hence the throuput. On the exit, a pneumatic cylinder will activate the DISCHARGE VALVE ® patented (clicca.qui), which will automatically maintain constant the level of melting of the product.
The molten product can then be cooled and grinded. This process can be made in 2 ways.
1. cut in pieces of size around 30x100 mm to 80*100mm cooled in water then grinded(click.here)

DESCRIPTION DENSIFICATOR DEC +EXTRUDER
A further solution exists, based on the possibility to couple to the DEC, directly from the exit, an extruder. This solution will optimize the energy consunption as the cooling of the material for grinding is no more required.the extruder ,fed directly by a melted product requires only to generate pressure to be pelletized.therefore ,the extruder coupled to the DEC ,will have an installed power roughly half of the one of an extruder of similar throughput.the length will be 13 to 17 D (depending on degasing) much lower than the standard extruder.
